*Please note that even if you dial these settings into your
Triaxis, it might not sound just like James. There is a lot more
involved to his tone besides just the Triaxis, but hopefully
these settings will help to get one step closer. Naturally, along
with different equipment, there is another variable: Different
venues. James would often tweak the settings to accomodate venues
with drastic acoustical changes.
UPDATE: 1/25/05 THERE ARE A FEW ERRORS WITH THE SETTINGS, I HAVE FIXED THEM BUT NOT UPDATED THIS PAGE YET. THE TRIAXIS FILE BELOW *HAS* BEEN EDITED WITH THE NEW/UPDATED SETTINGS.

in the late 90s.

PRESIDIO
These settings can be seen during a quick scene on MTV's
icon:Metallica special that aired earlier in the Summer of 2003.
The actual footage is from the upcoming documentary scheduled to
be released next year. These settings were used in the Presidio,
a recording session that preceded the actual St. Anger recording
at HQ. I did my best to freeze the video and get the images, so
let me know if you have something different.
